This is really funny film and very enjoyable. You can watch it over and over again and not get bored of it. Exactly like the book. Fantastic!!

When elderly spinster Jane Marple (played by Margaret Rutherford) attends a meeting of trustees for a training ship for juvenile delinquents, and one of her fellow trustees drops dead under mysterious circumstances, she realizes that it is time for her to investigate.

I must admit that my wife and I chanced across this Miss Marple movie after having become great fans of Joan Hickson's interpretation of the role, and were not too happy with it. Later, however, having accepted that this is not Joan Hickson's Miss Marple, but accepting it for its self, we came to love this movie. Margaret Rutherford brings a real presence to the role, adding a touch of humor, and making the story (not actually written by Agatha Christie, but a good mystery nonetheless) quite entertaining.

So, if you like a good mystery, or if you like old movies, then I highly recommend this movie to you. It's great!

Indeed this Summer Collection introduced a new level of culinary cosmopolitanism into British home cooking and caused supermarkets across the country to run out of ingredients as viewers enthusiastically took up her invitation to try something new. It is a testament to her pervading influence that much of what seemed new and exotic at the time has since become almost ubiquitous in contemporary British cuisine, including rocket, goats cheese and lemon grass.

Be it a light lunch or a dessert bonanza you're after, there's something to satisfy your palette with recipes including Salmon Steaks with Avocado and Créme Fraîche, Sautéed Asparagus with Eggs and Parmesan and home-made ice creams. Ingredients are clearly presented and also available in the corresponding book. At a total running time of nearly five hours, this double video set provides a comprehensive seasonal guide to summer cooking in the kitchen and outside on the barbecue. I was first introduced to this film as a child and have recently rediscovered it at age 23. I still love it. Bette Midler, Sarah Jessica Parker and Kathy Najimy are so hilarious as the evil Sanderson sisters and the musical numbers are fab. I agree there should be a soundtrack.

Definately one to watch, kids will love it, I put it on for my younger brother and he loved it. The only thing that creeped him out was the talking cat, think Salem from Sabrina the Teenage Witch. This cat is Sarcastic, dry and ultmately hilarious.

Give it a go people. Bette Midler is ace.

This is the best film ever but try as I might I can not get hold of it for region 2. If anyone knows where or how I can find this film to play on my DVD player, here in England, I would be grateful.
Same goes for "My Beautiful Son" AKA "Strange Relations" in the American market.
