The Beatles - Yellow Submarine [1968]

The Beatles - Yellow Submarine [1968]

In my case that was 1969. That's when I saw this in a double billing with Barbarella (1968) at West Point, NY.

The music is great and it brings back a part of history. Can the Beatles save Pepperland? Remember we all live in a Yellow Submarine. Instead of just buying the soundtrack, buy the movie and you have them both. I guess I will have to buy it also to hear "Hey, Bulldog!" Of course as with most movies there will always be someone one that prefers the original and knows that it was cut that way on purpose.

And now it is time for a whole new generation to enjoy.

Kismet [1955]

Kismet [1955]

kismet was not only one of the top musicals of this era its a pity that mgm do not release more. such as desert song & the student prince.

Callanetics - Super Callanetics [1988]

Callanetics - Super Callanetics [1988]

Sadly, I've never really managed to use this tape quite as often as her first one. I like the idea of the class doing the exercises/movements with you. This one is definitely more advanced movements and fine if you can work away on your own.

Riverdance - The Show [1995]

Riverdance - The Show [1995]

I saw Riverdance live in the UK and this comes no where near what you would expect. It has been very badly edited. If it's a large group of dancers you need to see all of them to get the full effect of group dancing, zooming in on the waist line of one dancer does not do it. Many times when a distance shot was required you found that the view was too close to the dancers to really see what they were doing. Zoom in. Zoom out, Zoom in Zoom out, Zoom in, Zoom out, Oh please will you keep the camera still. I sat through it all hoping it would improve, it did not. A VERY BORING VERSION OF WHAT SHOULD HAVE BEEN AN AMAZING SHOW.

The Princess Bride [1987]

The Princess Bride [1987]

This is one of those genius crossover pieces, made for children but with such witty dialogue and wordplay it is probably more often rewatched by adults.

So if you want masked men, giants, scheming princes, cunning sicillians, spanish swordsmasters, six-fingered men, swooning damsels, cynical miracle workers, depraved torturers, speech-challenged priests, not to mention, rodents of unusual size, this is the film for you.

It is "inconceivable" you will come away from this movie without remembering a line or two.

Intellgent cast, good pacing, great script.

Indiana Jones Trilogy (Box Set) [1984]

Indiana Jones Trilogy (Box Set) [1984]

The films are superb as they are and they are just enhanced with this brilliant box set. A few great things about this set is you get interviews with George Lucas, Steven Spielberg and Harrison at the end of each film, the film quality has been digitally remastered and the sound, and the box that holds all the videos is nice too! So all in all well worth the money for any Indy fan!

Goodnight Mister Tom [1998]

Goodnight Mister Tom [1998]

Good night Mister Tom my review

I would like to recommend, Goodnight Mister Tom because it's a very emotional story.
When I watched the DVD it was a thoroughly enjoyable and a good range of specialist language.
Based on the World War 2 time.

The charters are Tom, Willie, Zach, Sammy the dog, Mum and mrshartridge. Willie meets a boy called Zach but sadly Zach died because a Germans bomb. Willie's mum died because she drowned her, she was a mental women.

This DVD made you feel that you were there. Mister Tom helps Willie by buying him a book and pen. Willie was getting hit by his mum, for doing absolutely nothing.

My best part of the DVD was when Willie learned to ride a bike.
